On Saturday, Bishop George of Canada served at the Cathedral church of Saint Nicholas in Hamilton (on Nash Rd.), and on Sunday, at the church of Saint Nicholas at Barton str. in the same town, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of this oldest Serbian parish in Ontario. His Grace Bishop George of Canada was enthroned 29 years ago in this Cathedral church in Hamilton, on the feast day of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God.

Their Graces Bishops Jovan of Zica, the guardian of the throne of the Diocese of Zica, and Teodosije of Raska-Prizren concelebrated to His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej during the Divine Liturgy in the church of Saint Lazar of Kosovo and All Serbian Martyrs on Ljubic Hill above Cacak
Before the Divine Liturgy there was a consecration of the newly built church. Lots of faithful people from Cacak, Belgrade, Novi Sad, Batajnica, Banjaluka and Srem attended the Holy Liturgy. The relics of Saint Lazar of Kosovo were laid into the Table of the Lord of the church, which enhanced the spiritual joy, since the church would hold the relics of its patron saint. At the Holy Liturgy besides Bishops Jovan and Teodosije, more than 30 priests and monks, as well as eight deacons concelebrated to the Patriarch.
Serbian Patriarch at Patriarchate of Pec

October 2013 - 15:03His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the Patriarchate of Pec, the ancient seat of the Serbian Patriarchs, on the day of the feast day of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos. His Grace Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren concelebrated to His Holiness.
In his address to the people His Holiness especially pointed out the significance of the Patriarchate of Pec for the Serbian people, not just through history but during whole time. Its significance is that it is a ancient spiritual centre, but also the centre from where our Patriarch used to send its word to the Serbian people. On this occasion Serbian Patriarch empasized that the Serbian people would survive in the Patriarchate of Pec, the ancient capital, not only of Patriarchs but also of the whole Serbian people - no matter who guard the monastery or not.
Consecration of the premises of JAT Airways
14. October 2013 - 15:00With the blessing and on behalf of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, His Grace Bishop Irinej of the Metropolitanate of Australia and New Zealand with parish priest protopresbyter-stavrophor Rajko Nedic consecrated the premises of JAT Airways (Air Serbia)
Bishop Irinej conveyed the blessing of His Holiness to the employees of the national airline and wished them better cooperation in the world and flights to more destinations.
Promotion of the Book of Poetry by Jovan Dučić
14. October 2013 - 13:21The Serbian Cultural Centre in Paris on Friday evening, October 11, 2013, hosted an extraordinary event. A promotion of the book of poetry by Jovan Dučić and an exhibition of unpublished Dučić correspondence was organized by book publishers in cooperation with the Serbian Cultural Centre in Paris.
This is a major cultural event of the year because we are marking the seventieth anniversary of Dučić's death by issuing the first bilingual edition translations of poems in French of this prince of Serbian poetry. About the book spoke: literary critic Slavko Maleševic, editor of this edition Ljubomir Mihajlovic, the publisher Bishop Maxim Vasiljevic, a poet Komnen Bećirović, while actor Sasha Petronijević Dučićevu read poetry in French and Serbian.
Serbian Orthodox Church gets archive materials about ecclesiastical life in Serbia in the period between two world wars

October 2013 - 11:47At the solemn assembly held in Niš, Serbia, in honour of the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia presented His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia with the digitized copies of the archive materials of the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the period between the two world wars.
