His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew concluded  the visit to our Local Orthodox Church yesterday. In a last few days His All-Holiness participated in celebrations in Belgrade, Nis and Podgorica on the occasion of the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan. 

At the Belgrade airport Nikola Tesla His All-Holiness was sent off by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch and Their Graces Bishops Irinej of Backa, Ignatije of Branicevo, Maxim of Western-America, David of Krusevac, Porfirije of Jegar and Andrej of Remesiana. Dr. Mileta Radojevic, Director of the Office for Cooperation with traditional Churches and religious communities wished His All-Holiness a safe journey and presented a gift to him. Ambassador of the Republic of Greece Konstantinos Ikonomidis was also present during the sent-off at the Belgrade airport.

On the main stage of the National Theatre last night there was a premiere of the opera "In hoc signo" , on the occasion of the 17 centuries of the Edict of Milan.

The closing manifestation of the state programe of the celebration of the 17 centuries of the Edict of Milan was the performance of the Opera premiere of Don Marco Frisina's "In hoc signo" on the main stage of the National Theatre in Belgrade. The premiere was attended by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus, His Eminence Metropolitan Sava of Warsaw And All Poland, His Beatitude Archbishop Symeon, the Locum tenens of the Metropolitan's throne of the Orthodox Church of Czech lands and Slovakia, President of Serbia Mr. Tomislav Nikolic, Ministers Nebojsa Rodic, Zorana Mihajlovic, Sulejman Ugljanin and Sasa Radulovic, as well as representatives of other Local Orthodox Churches, representatives of religious communities and diplomatic corps.

The celebration of the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan and the consecration of Podgorica's Cathedral chruch of the Resurrection of Christ tonigh last night was ended with the visit of the primates of the Local Orthodox Churches, led by Patriarchs Ecumenical Bartholomew and Serbian Irinej, to the Cetinje Monastery.

The church primates were welcomed by the brotherhood of the monastery of Cetinje led by abbot of this sacred place Archimandrite Metodije (Ostojic), professors and students of the Seminary "Saint Peter of Cetinje"led by the rector of this instution protopresbyter-stavrophor Gojko Perovic and the faithful of Cetinje.

The contribution of the Serbian Armed Forces to the celebration of the jubilee of the Edict of Milan

On Monday, 16th after Pentecost, when the Church celebrates the commemoration of Saint King Stephen the First-Crowned - Simon the monk, at the army barrack "Prince Mihajlo" in Nis, the chapel was consecrated, which is built in honour of this saint. The consecration was performed by His Grace Bishop Porfirije of Jegar with the concelebration of two military priests from the General staff of the Serbian Armed Forces and the clergy of Nis. Commander of the 3rd Land Force brigade General Zelimir Glisovic with officers and soldiers attended the service.

Podgorica's church consecrated, Primates serve Liturgy

Eight primates of the Local Orthodox Churches led by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Russian Patriarch Kirill and Serbian Patriarch Irinej consecrated this morning Podgorica's Cathedral church of the Resurrection of Christ. 

Besides three Patriarchs the church was consecrated also by Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus, Ieronimos of Athens, Anastasios of Albania, Metropolitan Sava of Warsaw and All Poland, as well as Locum Tenens of Metropolitan's throne of Czech lands and Slovakia Archbishop Symeon of Olomouc and Brno. 

Meeting of Patriarch Bartholomew and Patriarch Kirill

Yesterday, on October 6 2013, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, met yesterday in Podgorica. The Primates of two Churches are in Podgorica on the occasion of the consecration of the Cathedral church of the Resurrection of God in Podgorica

Patriarch Bartholomew and Patriarch Kirill discussed about issues of the Orthodox cooperation and relation between two Patriarchates. On behalf of the Russian Orthodox Church on the meeting there were President of the Department for External Church Relations Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, protopresbyter Nikolay Balashov and protopresbyter Igor Jakimchuk, while on behalf of the Ecumenical Patriarchate on the meeting there were Metropolitan Emanuel of France, Secretary General of the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate Archimandrite Bartholomew (Samaras) and archdeacon Maxim (Vgenopoulos).
