Requiem and Funeral Service of Bulgarian Patriarch Maxim

On the occasion of the death of His Holiness Kyr Maxim, Bulgarian Patriarch and upon the invitation of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Kyr Irinej, Serbian Patriarch with the members of his escort participated in the requiem to Bulgarian Patriarch of blessed repose, on Friday, 9 November 2012, at the Cathedral Church of Alexander Nevsky in Sofia.

Archbishop Jovan in detention for eleven months!

Yesterday, on November 12, 2012, eleven months were completed since Archbishop Jovan is in detention.

Although he is already sentenced to a prison term, under the excuse that there is a new court process against him, the authorities are illegally and persistently keeping Archbishop Jovan in detention! There are other prisoners, such as the sentenced Ljube Boskovski, against whom new court processes are ongoing, but as opposed to Archbishop Jovan, they are not placed in detention, but in the Idrizovo prison! Only against one man different orders are being carried out, as if there were a purpose of silently killing him, and that man is Archbishop Jovan of Ohrid!

The purpose of detention is ensuring the presence at the court hearings and preventing the influence upon the other accused persons. The presence of Archbishop Jovan would have nevertheless been ensured if he were in the Idrizovo prison, and from there he would also not be able to influence anybody! But, despite the fact that he has diabetes as well as other health problems, Archbishop Jovan is tendentiously being held in the strict detention regime: twenty-three hours he is confined in a cell, without medical care, and with restrictions to the food that is being sent to him due to his illness, without fresh air, and for whole six months nobody has visited him, because the visits are prohibited even to the only ones that had the right to visit him, his mother and his sister!

Feast-day of Saint Great Martyr Demetrius solemnly celebrated in New Belgrade

His Holiness Kyr Irinej, Serbian Patriarch celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Saint Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessaloniki in New Belgrade.

Following the cutting of the slava cake, His Holiness addressed the guests and people.

His Holiness Kyr Irinej, Serbian Patriarch received on November 7^th, 2012 high parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Indonesia which was in an official visit to our country.

Serbian Patriarch on funeral of Bulgarian Patriarch Maxim

His Holiness Kyr Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, along with His Eminence Kyr Amfilohije, Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral went on Thursday, November 8th, 2012 on a funeral of Bulgarian Patriarch Maxim. The funeral service and requiem have been served this morning at Cathedral church of Saint Alexander Nevsky in Sofia. 

Church Consecrated within Hospital Complex "Dr Miroslav Zotovic"

The first time since the Second World War a new church has been built and consecrated within the hospital complex. The Order of Saint Sava to the Clinic Dr Miroslav Zotovic for proven love towards Holy mother Church and 60 years of professional nursing and care for patients

His Grace Atanasije, Bishop of Hvosno, Vicar Bishop of His Holiness; consecrated on  Sunday, 4 November 2012, a new church dedicated to Saint Apostle Luke within the hospital complex of the Clinic for rehabilitation Dr Miroslav Zotovic.  Protopresbyter-staurophor Professor Dr. Vladimir Vukasinovic - the Episcopal dean, concelebrated with other priests and deacons.
