High guest from Anglican Church visits the Serbian Patriarchate

His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno received todat at the Court of the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade His Eminence Bishop of the Anglican Church for Europe the Rt Revd David Hamid.

His Grace Bishop Atanasije on behalf of His Holiness Patriarch Pavle of Serbia, and on behalf of His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral welcomed the guest from England. Bishop David thanked and conveyed the greetings from Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams.

Public Issue Statement Called to strengthen human rights, religious freedom and relationships

"Called to One Hope in Christ", the 13th Assembly of the Conference of European Churches, meets in the context of a Europe which is becoming increasingly diverse religiously, ethnically and linguistically. There are many positive consequences of this but there are also real concerns that human relationships are under strain and human freedoms are being restricted. These include growing misunderstandings between religious communities, religious discrimination and violation of religious freedom.

Metropolitan Amfilohije received ambassador of Italy

His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral received on July 24, 2009, at the Patriarchate Court His Excellency Armando Varricchio, a newly appointed ambassador of the Republic of Italy in Belgrade.

Reception at the Swiss Embassy

His Eminence Metropolita Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, by an invitation of His Excellency the Ambassador of Switzerland Erwin Helmut Hoffer, visited the residence of the Swiss embassy on Dedinje on the ocassion of the Independance Day of the Republic of Switzerland. His Grace Bishop Irinej of Australia and New Zealand was present during the formal coctail.

New Members of the Central Committee of the Conference of European Churches

The last day of the session of the 13th Assembly of the Conference of European Churches (CEC) in Lyon, members of the Central Committee, the most important part of the CEC,  were elected by secret voting. Thanks to the effort of our delegation , the SOC got two places in this Committee, where in nest 6 years, will directly decide in bringing decisions of this European organization. His Grace Bishop Grigorije of Zahumlje and Hercegovina and Julija Vidovic, Th.D. in Paris, were elected as the members of the Committee of the CEC.

Furthermore, the SOC delegation managed to explicitly add in the official public document of the Assembly of the CEC an issue of violating human rights of believers of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo and Metohija, especially in the field of religious freedoms. 

Celebration in basketball camp Dejan Bodiroga in Trebinje

The famous Serbian basketball player Dejan Bodiroga said tonight that a basketball camp in Trebinje, which is organized this year for the fourth time, managed to become traditional. " The goal has been reached, for the Camp succeeded completely by any means. More and more participants from many countries come every year", Bodiroga said at the celebration in Trebinje on the occasion of 4th basketball camp "Dejan Bodiroga".
