Serbian Patriarch Porfirije celebrates the Holy Liturgy in Nis on Lazarus' Saturday

April 2021 - 15:20His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of Their Graces Bishops Ilarion of Timok and Arsenije of Nis, in the Cathedral church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles in Nis, on April 24, 2021, on Lazarus' Saturday.
Among concelebrants also were: protopresbyter-staurophor Milutin Timotijevic, head of the Theological Seminary "Saints Cyril and Methodius" in Nis, ; protopresbyter-staurophor Branislav Cincarevic, head of the Cathedral in Nis; protopresbyter-staurophor Nanad Mikic; hieromonk Sava (Bundalo); archpriest Miodrag Pavlovic, Diocesan Deputy of Nis I; archpriest Zlatko Vasilic, Diocesan Deputy of Nis II; protosynchellos Nektarije (Djuric) and deacons Radomir Vrucinic, Vuk Jovanovic and Djordje Filipovic.

The Patriarch opens the Museum of the Church Antiquities of the Diocese of Nis

April 2021 - 9:06His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, ceremoniously opened a newly formed Museum of Church Antiquities of the Diocese of Nis in the presence of His Grace Bishop Arsenije of Nis, and distinguished guests, during his first official visit to the Diocese of Nis, on April 23, 2021.
On behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia, which financially supported the establishment of the Museum, Dr. Dejan Maslikovic attended the opening ceremony.
Solemn welcome of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije in Nis
25. April 2021 - 8:50His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch arrived in the first official visit to the Diocese of Nis since his election as the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church, in the afternoon on 23 April 2021.
A great spiritual joy in the God-saved Diocese of Nis was announced by the bells from the Cathedral church when His Holiness Patriarch was greeted by His Grace Bishop Arsenije of Nis, together with His Grace Bishop Ilarion of Timok, the clergy and the pious faithful people of the Diocese of Nis.
Holy New Martyrs of Jasenovac in the light of the Resurrection

April 2021 - 10:51His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch opened an exhibition of works by the nun Marija (Antic) from the monastery of St. John the Baptist in Jasenovac at the History Museum of Serbia, which was organized to mark the Day of Remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust, genocide and other victims of fascism in World War II, on 22 April 2021.
His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch stated yesterday, at the opening of the exhibition Holy New Martyrs of Jasenovac in the light of the Resurrection, that the most monstrous crimes were committed in Jasenovac, which even animals would be ashamed of. "Jasenovac is widely known not only in Serbia but in the whole world, unfortunately, on the one hand, not only for evil but for the most extreme possible evil that the human mind can imagine," said the Patriarch at the History Museum of Serbia, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Serbia. Aleksandar Vucic, His Grace Bishop Jovan of Slavonia, and the highest representatives of the Serbian people from Republika Srpska and Croatia.
Patriarch Porfirije: We agreed with Prime Minister Krivokapic regarding the Agreement

April 2021 - 13:22On 22 April 2021 His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch stated that he agreed with Prime Minister of Montenegro Mr. Zdravko Krivokapic in regard to signing the Fundamental Agreement between the state of Montenegro and the Serbian Orthodox Church, as well as that it was agreed in principle that he would go to Montenegro after the Easter holidays and sign that document.
The Patriarch Porfirije told the Tanjug agency that he is deeply convinced that the signing of the Fundamental Agreement between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the state of Montenegro, on the basis of which the state's relationship with the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro will be regulated, will put an end to misunderstandings on the matter.
