Annunciation - the Patron Saint-day of the PE Serbia Post

Today after the liturgical gathering in the Saint Sava Cathedral, His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch visited the building of the Main Post Office in Belgrade, where, in the prayerful presence of the Director Zoran Djordjevic and employees, served the act of blessing the slava cake and wheat on the occasion of the Feast of the Annunciation - the Patron Saint-day feast of the PE Serbia Post.

Serbian Patriarch receives the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Greece

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch received His Excellency Nikos Dendias, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Greece, at the Serbian Patriarchate in in Belgrade, on April 5, 2021.

During the first meeting with a member of the Greek government since taking office, Patriarch Porfirijespoke about the centuries-old close ties between the two monotheistic peoples, Greek and Serbian, which, despite numerous challenges and temptations imposed by modern world circumstances, should be nurtured and developed.

Serbian Patriarch receives Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch received His Excellency Nikos Christodoulidis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade, on April 5, 2021,

The Patriarch expressed satisfaction that he had the opportunity to greet a high official of friendly and monotheistic Cyprus, with whose people the Serbian people share a very similar history and modern circumstances. The Patriarch emphasized the importance of improving the fraternal relations between Serbia and the Serbian people with the people of Cyprus and the Greek people as a whole.

Serbian Patriarch receives Minister of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism of Montenegro

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch received Professor Dr. Ratko Mitrovic, Minister of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism of the Republic of Montenegro  in the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on April 5, 2021.

In the first meeting of Patriarch Porfirije with the representative of the Government of Montenegro, the necessity and importance of close cooperation between the two fraternal states was emphasized. The need to continue the renewal of Orthodox spirituality in the Republic of Montenegro was emphasized, and in that sense, the key contribution of Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral of blessed repose. The fruits of his dedicated work can be seen in a large number of believing Orthodox believers, pious priests and monks, and numerous renovated and built churches and monasteries.

Patriarch Porfirije: Our life is a cross, and the cross itself is a gift of God

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy iin the church of Holy Apostle Mark in Belgrade, on 4 April 2021, on the Sunday of the Veneration of the Cross.

The Patriarch was celebrated by the abbot of the Monastery of New Grachanica near Chicago Archimandrite Serafim (Baltic), archpriest Sreten Mladenovic, hieromonk Amvrosije (Vesic), protonamesnik Branislav Borota, hierodeacon Sava (Bundalo) and deacon Dragan Askovic. 

Serbian Patriarch receives Ambassador of Armenia

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, received His Excellency Ashot Hovakiman, the non-residential Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Serbia in the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade, on 2 April 2021.

Serbian Patriarch Porfirije in a cordial conversation with Ambassador Hovakimian, he spoke about the importance of centuries-old Serbian-Armenian friendship, emphasizing that there is deep compassion between Serbs and Armenians because the history of both nations is written through crusades.
