Bishop Maxim visits Belgrade Elementary School and Hospital for Cerebral Palsy
23. December 2017 - 16:52Оn December 21, 2017, Bishop Maxim of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Western America visited the Dr. Dragan Hercog Elementary School and the Special Hospital for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Neurology on Sokobanjska Street, in Belgrade.
Bishop Maxim was welcomed by excited children with smiles on their faces at the time of their German language class, teachers of the school, the director Mr. Zoran Aleksic and the Head of the Department Tatjana Arežina.
Metropolitan Amfilohije concluded his visit to the Diocese of Buenos Aires and South-Central America
22. December 2017 - 12:10At the end of this annual canonical visitation to the Diocese of Buenos Aires and South-Central America, its administrator His Eminence Amfilohije, Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral, had various activities.
The Metropolitan attended the Holy Liturgy which was served by the recently ordained priest Milenko Ralevic and hierodeacon David (Janketic). In the afternoon, the Metropolitan attended the reception given by the Metropolitan Ignatius of Argentina and South America of the Moscow Patriarchate. The Metropolitan was escorted by Bishop Kiril of Dioclea and protodeacons Nikola Radisa and Vladimir Jaramaz. The reception was also attended by Bishop John of Caracas and South America of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia.
Patron Saint-day of Saint Nicholas Church in Machagai, Argentina
22. December 2017 - 11:49On the feast-day of the Great Martyr Barbara, 17 December 2017, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was served by Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and Bishop Kirilo of Dioclea in the church of Saint Nicholas in Machagai.
The Metropolitan was concelebrated by Archimandrite Demetrius from Paraguay, local parish priest Branko Stanisic, priest Marko Obradovic from Brazil, as well as protodeacons Nikola Radis and Vladimir Jaramaz. With the blessing of Metropolitan Amfilohije, on this Sunday service the feast-day of Saint Nicholas of Myra was celebrated as well.
SerbFest in Clearwater
22. December 2017 - 10:57St. George Clearwater held its annual SerbFest on November 17-19, 2017.
It was 3 days of hard work by all our dedicated volunteers, church board members and Kolo sisters. The festival was full of great performances from various groups around Florida, including a Bulgarian group and Mexican group who delighted all our visitors with their dancing.
The Cathedral church in Karlovac, Croatia, celebrated its jubilee
20. December 2017 - 13:38On the feast day of Holy Great Martyr Barbara and Saint John Damascus, on 17th December 2017, the 230th anniversary of the Cathedral church and 10th anniversary of its great restoration was celebrated solemnly at the Cathedral church of Saint Nicholas of Myra in Karlovac.
The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was officiated by Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana, Bishop Nikodim of Dalmatia and the competent Diocesan Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac, with the concelebration of the clergy from the dioceses of Zagreb-Ljubljana, Dalmatia and Gornji Karlovac. A choir Saint Theodor from Vrsac, Serbia, sang responses. The Liturgy was attended by Zupan of Karlovac Mr. Damir Jelic, Mayor of Karlovac Mr. Damir Mandic and the Franciscan monastery guardian Fr. Krunoslav Albert.
Consecration of the corner-stone of a church in Argentina
19. December 2017 - 15:46The Serbian Orthodox Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro consecrated a corner-stone of a church dedicated to the Holy Trinity in Resistencia in Argentina.
On Saturday, 16 December 2017, on the feast-day of Holy Prophet Sophronius and Saint John the Silent, His Eminence Amfilohije, Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral and His Grace Bishop Kiril of Dioclea celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of Revd. parish priest Marko Obradovic from Brazil and protodeacon Vladimir Jaramaz, in Resistencia, a place where the church of the Holy Trinity will be built for spiritual needs of all Orthodox people of this town and the province of Chaco.
