Patron Saint’s Day of the Royal Family of Serbia
14. December 2017 - 10:31The Royal Family of Serbia celebrated today its Patron Saint’s Day – St. Andrew the First Called, at the Royal Palace in Belgrade.
The hosts are Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine, and the celebration was attended by religious leaders, members of the Advisory Bodies of the Crown, as well as by the friends of the Royal Family.
The First Orthodox Grammar School in Bosnia and Herzegovina

December 2017 - 9:59On 13 January 2017, in a hall of the Saint Sava Parish House in Srpska Varos in town Brcko, Republic of Srpska, there was held a meeting of Bishop Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla with representatives of the Brcko District authorities, headed by Mayor Mr. Sinisa Milic, as well as with representatives of educational and other institutions of the District.
Two topics were discussed: first – establishing of an Orthodox Grammar school in Brcko, and the second one– considering a projectof the internal design of the Cultural and Administrative Centre of the Serbian Orthodox Church-School Community of Brcko. The meeting was opened by protopresbyter-staurophor Nebojsa Draskic, principal of the Cathedral church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God in Brcko, who reported on the projects and phases they might be implemented.
Metropolitan’s evangelic mission in Colombia
11. December 2017 - 13:31Like the first Apostles, their disciples and new enlighteners, Metropolitan Amfilohije heard the voice of Jesus that echoes: “Go forth and baptize all the peoples”, while continuing his evangelic mission in South America.
This distant South American country, which bears the name of Christopher Columbus, the man who discovered America, got its Orthodox missionaries in recent years.
The Serbian Orthodox Church in Central America got a new monastery
11. December 2017 - 13:19His Eminence Amfilohije, Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral and the Administrator of South-Central America, paying a canonical visitation to this Diocese,arrived to the monastery of Holy Trinity in Guatemala on 5 November 2017.
His Eminence was welcomed by abbess of the monastery mother Ines with the sisterhood, protopresbiter-staurophor Alexios Pena Alfaro, Bishop’s deputy of Brazil as well as by monastery spiritual Fr. Ignatius.
Metropolitan Amfilohije visiting Ecuador
11. December 2017 - 13:17His Eminence Amfilohije, Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral and the Administrator of Buenos Aires and South-Central America, accompanied by protodeacon Vladimir Jaramaz, passed Peru and its capital Lima while performing a canonical visitation to Ecuador and the city of Guayaquil on 1 December 2017.
Hieromonk Raphael with a group of feithful arranged a cordial welcome at the airport, from where they all visited Orthodox church of the Serbian Patriarchate and its parish house. This Orthodox community in Guayaquil is numerous and multinational consisting of Ecuadorians, Serbian, Russians, Ukrainians, Greeks and the natives. Metropolitan Amfilohije spent in Ecuador until 5 December 2017; from there he went to Guatemala to pay his canonical visit.
