The Holy Archangel Michael parish celebrated the Sunday of Orthodoxy with the procession of the Holy Icons. It was wonderful to see so many faithful attending the Holy Liturgy, celebrated by the Reverend Presbyter Veselin Svorcan and assisted by the Reverend Deacon Miladin Tripic, affirming the Orthodox Faith on the FirstSunday of Great Lent.

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received Her Excellency Dr. Dia Nader de el Andari at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on 24 March 2016.

The reception was also attended by Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, the Administrator of the Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church for South and Central America, as well as Mr. Darwin Castillo, Consul.

In the chapel of Saint George, at the military barracks “Banjica 2” in Belgrade, the memorial service (panichida) was served for the killed members of the Yugoslav Army during the NATO aggression upon the F.R. Yugoslavia in 1999, the Serbian Armed Forces reported.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Ljubisa Dikovic with members of the collegium attended.

The Sunday of Orthodoxy celebrated in London

The Sunday of Orthodoxy in London was liturgically celebrated in presence of the highest dignitaries of all Orthodox Churches.

The Triumph of Orthodoxy was solemnly marked at the Vesper service (on Sunday, March 20th) among Orthodox brothers in the Russian Cathedral church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God of the Patriarchate of Moscow (67 Ennismore Gardens).

Prince Charles visited the Cathedral church of Saint George in Prizren

Serbian Orthodox Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren and hegoumen of the Decani Monastery Archimandrite Sava, along with the clergy, students of the Prizren Theological Seminary and the faithful, welcomed His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales at the Cathedral church of Holy Great Martyr George in Prizren on 19 March 2016.

At the entrance to the churchyard the high guest was welcomed by Milica Djordjevic, the only Serbian child left in Prizren, who handed him in a bouquet of flowers. Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren addressed The Prince of Wales in the church, speaking of the significance of the sacred places of Kosovo and Metohija, sufferings that the Church and the people have gone through in recent years as well as about the restoration of the destroyed or damaged sacred monuments and, especially, about the restoration of the function of the historical Serbian Orthodox Theological Seminary of Prizren. The Prince Charles cordially greeted the seminarians who sang for him troparion of the Resurrection of Christ both in Serbian and English.

His Grace Bishop Dr. Irinej of Backa, His Eminence Metropolitan Dr. Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana, Vicar Bishop Jeronim of Jegar and Venerable Archimandrite Isihije, prior of the Kovilj Monastery, with brotherhood, welcomed His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales at the monastery gate.

The sound of the monastery bells was being interchanged by chanting of the choir of Saint John of Damascus, which, in honour of the high guests, sang Doxology by Danilo Protopsalt as well as some hymns in English To Thee, the Champion Leader and The Lord bless you and keep you, verses that are usually sung to the British Monarch in the Westminster Abbey.
