Greek Chief of the General Staff visits Serbian Patriarch
26. February 2016 - 14:25His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, met yesterday with Admiral EvangelosApostolakis, Chief of the General Staff of the Nacional Defense of the Republic of Greece at the Serbian Patriarchate.
Admiral Apostolakis was accompanied by Commodore EvtimiosMikros and Major Nikolaos Gonis, who came to the Patriarchate along with ambassador of the Republic of Greece, Mr. Konstantinos Ikonomidis and representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces Brigadier General Jelisije Radivojevic, Commander of the military ship Goran Arsic and Lieutenant Colonel Sasa Arsovic. The audience was attended by Rev.Vladimir Vranic, chief secretary of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch.

17. February 2016 - 14:01Serbian Patriarch Irinej celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Saint Sava in Toronto on the feast-day of the Meeting of the Lord in the Temple, on 15 February 2016.
On the feast-day of Meeting of the Lord, believers of the Saint Sava parish in Toronto had a great blessing and privilege to welcome their Primate, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej. For the first time since 1990 when then Patriarch Pavle served Divine Liturgy in this church, Patriarch Irinej officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of nine priests and protodeacon Damjan Bozic.

Competition for erection of a monument in honor of Stefan Nemanja

The Board for erection of the Stefan Nemanja Memorial brought a decision to launch a domestic public tender for erection of a monument to Stefan Nemanja, as well as of the Memorial complex “Serbian Middle Ages”.
Belgrade, 11 February 2016. - At the proposal of Prime Minister and President of the Commission Mr. Aleksandar Vucic, the Board expressed its intention to locate the future monument to Stefan Nemanja and the Memorial complex at the corner of Knez Milos and Nemanja streets, the governmental office for cooperation with media announced. The final decision regarding the location will be brought at a future session, in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
