Bishop Andrej serves in the church of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God

On the feast day of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God, His Grace Bishop Andrej of Remesiana, Vicar of the Serbian Patriarch, served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God in Belgrade on the ocasion of the slava of this church.

Metropolitan Jovan in Kranj

On Sunday, 14th after Pentecost, on 29 September, Metropolitan Jovan of Zagreb-Ljubljana served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in Kranj with the concelebration of local priests. Before the beginning of the Holy Liturgy Metropolitan Jovan performed a small consecration of the newly restored church in Kranj. Then Metropolitan addressed the faithful with the sermon. Lots of faithful partook the Holy Communion.

Serbian Patriarch at Patriarchate of Pec

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the Patriarchate of Pec, the ancient seat of the Serbian Patriarchs, on the day of the feast day of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos. His Grace Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren concelebrated to His Holiness. 

In his address to the people His Holiness especially pointed out the significance of the Patriarchate of Pec for the Serbian people, not just through history but during whole time. Its significance is that it is a ancient spiritual centre, but also the centre from where our Patriarch used to send its word to the Serbian people. On this occasion Serbian Patriarch empasized that the Serbian people would survive in the Patriarchate of Pec, the ancient capital, not only of Patriarchs but also of the whole Serbian people - no matter who guard the monastery or not. 

Consecration of the premises of JAT Airways

With the blessing and on behalf of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, His Grace Bishop Irinej of the Metropolitanate of Australia and New Zealand with parish priest protopresbyter-stavrophor Rajko Nedic consecrated the premises of JAT Airways (Air Serbia)

Bishop Irinej conveyed the blessing of His Holiness to  the employees of the national airline and wished them better cooperation in the world and flights to more destinations.

Orthodox primates visit Cetinje Monastery

The celebration of the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan and the consecration of Podgorica's Cathedral chruch of the Resurrection of Christ tonigh last night was ended with the visit of the primates of the Local Orthodox Churches, led by Patriarchs Ecumenical Bartholomew and Serbian Irinej, to the Cetinje Monastery.

The church primates were welcomed by the brotherhood of the monastery of Cetinje led by abbot of this sacred place Archimandrite Metodije (Ostojic), professors and students of the Seminary "Saint Peter of Cetinje"led by the rector of this instution protopresbyter-stavrophor Gojko Perovic and the faithful of Cetinje.

The contribution of the Serbian Armed Forces to the celebration of the jubilee of the Edict of Milan

On Monday, 16th after Pentecost, when the Church celebrates the commemoration of Saint King Stephen the First-Crowned - Simon the monk, at the army barrack "Prince Mihajlo" in Nis, the chapel was consecrated, which is built in honour of this saint. The consecration was performed by His Grace Bishop Porfirije of Jegar with the concelebration of two military priests from the General staff of the Serbian Armed Forces and the clergy of Nis. Commander of the 3rd Land Force brigade General Zelimir Glisovic with officers and soldiers attended the service.
