His Grace Bishop Dr. Mitrophan is committed to continued education seminars for clergy of the Eastern American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Seminars have been held for clergy on a regular basis since at least October 1993 when +Very Re v. Stavrofor Dr. Nedeljko Grgurevich was the featured speaker.

The topics and speakers at the seminars have focused on the priesthood, issues concerning parish life and advancing the Gospel of Christ. Ecumenism, Holy Confession, cremation, abortion, prisons ministries, marriage and family life, medical ethics, organ donation, church music, church history, missions and Svetosavjle in North America have been among the various topics. Clergy from with the Serbian Orthodox Church as well as from the Greek Orthodox and Antiochian Orthodox Churches have been featured speakers.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, celebrated today, on 18 November 2012, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk and His Grace Bishop Antonije of Moravica.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, along with His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, the chief of the Office of Inter-Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, consecrated today, on 17 November 2012, the Russian Cemetary in front of the Iver chapel at the New Cemetary in Belgrade. His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and Their Graces Bishops: Irinej of Backa and Antonije of Moravica also were present at the consecration. 

Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk visits Serbian Orthodox Church

His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, the head of the Department for inter-church relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, invited by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej and with the blessing of His Holiness Irinej of Moscow and All Russia, is coming today, on 16 November 2012, in a three-day visit to the Serbian Orthodox Church. During the his stay in Belgrade he will meet separately with Mr. Tomislav Nikolic, the President of the Republic of Serbia; Mr. Ivica Dacic, the Serbian Prime Minister, and Mr. Milorad Dodik, the President of the Republic of Srpska.

Metropolitan Hilarion will consecrate on Saturday, 17 November 2012, the restored chapel of Iver and the Russian necropolis at the New cemetery in Belgrade, while on Sunday, 18 November 2012, will concelebrate the Serbian Patriarch at the Divine Liturgy in Belgrade’s Cathedral church.

Prayerful Remembrance of Patriarch Pavle

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch with the concelebration of Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral; Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno, Vicar of the Serbian Patriarch;  and Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren, served today on November 15 2012, the Divine Liturgy at Rakovica monastery. The President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Tomislav Nikolic, and many believers were present at the memorial service on the occasion of the third anniversary of the repose of Serbian Patriarch Pavle. Bishop Lavrentije of Sabac concelebrated at the service.
