Exhibition NOT TO FORGET for the seventh time

With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, the seventh traditional exhibition of copies of icons and frescoes from Kosovo and Metohija was opened last night, on March 17, 2011 at the St. Sava's house of the St. Sava Memorial Cathedral on Vracar. This year the copies of the frescoes of Mother of God Ljeviska in Prizren, but also other monasteries from Kosovo and Metohija are showcased.

Prof. Dr. Radovan Bigovic: Church in modern world

Within a library of Science, as a part of Philosophical-theological edition, Sluzbeni glasnik prepared a collection of twenty articles of Professor of the Faculty of the Orthodox Theology in Belgrade protopresbyter-staurophor Dr. Radovan Bigovic. Besides articles, the book consists of also unique reference list, as well as indexes of terms and personalities.

Both Serbian and Bethlehem monuments on UNESCO list

The Palestinian National Authority has filed a request with UNESCO to put the church built on the site of Christ's birth in Bethlehem on its World Heritage List, making it the first such site on the Palestinian territory.

The list comprises 704 monuments with cultural properties, 180 with natural and 27 with mixed properties.

Formal academy at the Military Medical Academy

On the occasion of the Statehood Day and the Day of the Army of Serbia in the amphitheatre of the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade a formal academy was held which was attended by  high officials of the Government, the Army of Serbia and diplomatic cord and also by His Grace Atanasije of Hvosno, vicar of the Patriarch and priests of the side chapel of the Military Medical Academy.

Christmas Caroling with the Branko Radichevich Cathedral Choir

For the fourth consecutive year, the Serbian Singing Society Branko Radichevich, our Cathedral choir, visited nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and private homes through the northern portion of Chicago, Cook and DuPage counties and southern Lake County, traveling through the more than 1500 square miles that comprises the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Libertyville and Chicago.
