Venerable Mother Angelina of Serbia
12. August 2019 - 14:08She was a daughter of the Orthodox Albanian prince Gjergj Arianit Komneni, sister-in-law of George Kastrioti Skanderbeg and a wife of Serbian despot Stefan Brankovic, son of George.
With her husband she shared the full bitterness of his life, not only in Serbia but also, in exile in Albania and Italy. Their sons Maksim and Jovan she educated in a Christian spirit. When her husband died, she became a nun and devoted herself to prayers and works of mercy, repairing and building churches and monasteries. The people calls her "Mother Angelina". Her wonderworking relics rest along with the relics of her righteous husband Stefan and devoted sons Maksim and Jovan in the monastery of Krusedol. Saint mother Angelina died in the beginning of XVI century.
Liturgy at the Basilica of the Nativity in Bethlehem
12. August 2019 - 14:07On Sunday, July 30/ August 11, 2019, His Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos officiated the Divine Liturgy at the Basilica of the Nativity in Bethlehem, above the God-receiving Cave, where our Lord Jesus Christ was born in the flesh.
This Divine Liturgy was celebrated on the centenary completion since the foundation of Jamaeye, namely the Greek-Orthodox community in Bethlehem, whose parish Church is the Basilica.
Prof. Zoran Mihajlovic reposed in the Lord

Prof. Zoran Mihajlovic, Dean of the Academy of the Serbian Orthodox Church for Fine Arts and Conservation, died on August 8, 2019.
Zoran Mihajlovic was born on October 16, 1955. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1984 in the class of prof. Mladen Srbinovic. He received title of Master of Painting in 1986. He was ordinary professor of Mosaics at the Serbian Orthodox Church's Academy for Fine Arts and Conservation since 1995, where he was dean since 2014.
Bishop Teodosije liturgized in a renovated monastery

The Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Bishop Theodosius of Raska and Prizren, with concelebration of the Episcopal dean of Mitrovica Protopriest-Stavrophor Milija Arsovic as well as of the clergy and of hieromonks and hierodeacons of the Diocese of Raska-Prizren.

On the day of celebration of the venerable Martyr Paraskeve of Rome, on August 8, 2019, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej presided at the Holy Liturgy in the church of Ruzica, in the prayerful presence of His Grace Irinej, Bishop of Backa. Pariarch’s concelebrants were Archpriests-Stavrophors Dr. Savo B. Jovic, Secretary General of the Holy Synod of Bishops, and Dragoljub Ubiparipovic; Archpriest Milan Lazarevic, principal of the Church of St. Basil of Ostrog in the Belgrade district of Banjica; Revd. Restoration work completed at St. Catherine’s Monastery on Mt. Sinai
9. August 2019 - 11:25Many years of restoration work at the ancient St. Catherine’s Monastery, carried out under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, have been completed.
During the project, the territory surrounding the monastery was landscaped, the roads leading to the monastery and to Mount Moses were repaired, larger parking spaces for buses were created, and an electronic security system was installed, reports Romfea.
