Middle East Orthodox Primates to meet again in Nicosia

The four Primates of the Autocephalous Orthodox Churches in the Middle East will meet a second time in Nicosia in the near future in an effort to find a solution for the ecclesial issue of Ukraine.

The Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Alexandria addressed for the first time the issue of granting autocephaly to Ukraine in an interview with the Greek newspaper Ethnos.

Archbishop Elpidophoros of America was officially installed as the seventh Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, during the enthronement ceremony that took place on Saturday June 22, at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Manhattan.

For many in the Greek community, Rigas Feraios (Velestinlis) is probably best known as a proto-martyr in the Greek Revolution, though the details of his life and what he actually stood for may not be as well known. On June 13, the East Mediterranean Business and Culture Alliance (EMBCA) event  "Romioi, the Balkans and the Rigas Feraios Charta on the 221st Anniversary of His Death" , presented a fascinating look at Rigas and his life and times.
