A summer camp organized by the Romanian Metropolis for young people

For the first time, the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of Western and Southern Europe is organizing a summer camp for children in France! This camp is for children from 8 to 15 years old. It will be held from August 12-19, 2019 in an exceptionally beautiful place located in the mountains of Vercors (La Servagère).

The theme of this first camp is “Life in Heaven – Nature and Liturgy”. The children will have the opportunity to learn about the Divine Liturgy and fellowship in a new way, in total immersion in nature, with activities helping them enter the mystery of the face-to-face between the creature and the Creator.

On the second day of the stay in the God-protected city of Damascus, 2 June 2019, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, along with His Beatitude Patriarch John of Antioch and All the East celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Cathedral church of the Precious Cross in Damascus, not far from the headquarters of the Patriarchate of Antioch.

The Serbian and Antiochian Patriarchs were concelebrated by eighteen hierarchs, twenty four priests and five deacons. Patriarch Irinej was welcomed by several hundreds of people at the square facing the church of the Holy Cross. At the very end of the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy Patriarch John of Antioch and All the East delivered a speech. His Holiness Irinej thanked whole-heartedly for the welcoming words and addressed His Beatitude Patriarch John and the congregation.

Two thousand visitors to the Sumela Monastery within four days

The Sumela Monastery received two thousand visitors within four days, which opened to the public after four years of restoration work.

Trabzon Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Ali Ayvazoğlu, according to OPEN TV correspondent Maria Zacharaki, said that “2,063 people visited the monastery from Saturday, May 25 to Tuesday May 28. This is a very good number. This means that on average about 600 thousand people will visit the monastery this year. I think we can achieve this number,” he said.

Greek, Armenian Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches Agree to Restore the Holy Sepulcher

On Monday afternoon, May 14/27, 2019, at the Franciscan Monastery, there was a meeting of H.H.B. the Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos, Geronda Secretary-General Most Reverend Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantina, and Dragouman Archimandrite Mattheos, with the Franciscans, the Custos Fr. Francesco Patton, Fr. Dobromiro, Fr.David, and with the Armenian Patriarch in Jerusalem Archbishop Nourhan Manougian, the Hegoumen of the Armenians at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre Fr. Samuel and Fr. Gurion, for the signing of the agreement for the completion of the maintenance and restoration project of the Sacred Edicule and the Rotunda, after the maintenance and restoration works of the Sacred Edicule that were completed two years ago under the technical supervision of the Technical University of Athens.

A Roman Catholic Family convert to Orthodoxy in Pakistan

A Roman Catholic Family of five members joined the Russian Orthodox Church in Pakistan. They were welcomed by Fr. Paul Sushil (Priest of the Russian Orthodox Church in Pakistan– Moscow Patriarchate) welcomed the family. Mr. Richard Nazeer, Ephraim, Juliana, Philip, Peter, and Maximus are the new members of the Orthodox Church in Pakistan.

Patriarch Kirill meets with Mayor of Strasbourg, Roland Ries

On 26 May 2019, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia met with the Mayor of Strasbourg, Roland Ries.

Earlier that day the Primate of the Russian Church consecrated the Orthodox Church of All Saints in Strasbourg.
