Celebration of Metropolitan Onuphry's Name's Day

On June 25, a double celebration in honor of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine will be held at the Kiev Caves Lavra.

According to the Information Center of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church, representatives from 11 Local Orthodox Churches will gather in the Ukrainian capital to help His Beatitude celebration his name’s day and the 5th anniversary of his enthronement as primate of the Ukrainian Church.

Court opens proceedings on illegal registration of schismatics with same name as canonical Ukrainian Church

The district administrative court of Kiev took into consideration and opened proceedings on the matter of the illegality of the state registration of the religious center of the new schismatic church on Tuesday, reports the legal department of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

The Kiev Metropolia of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church filed a lawsuit against the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture and the state registrar after they registered the schismatic church with the same name that the canonical Church has legally held since the 1990s.

New Estonian government ends support for LGBT events abroad

The Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent a letter to foreign representatives with a recommendation to cease supporting the parades of sexual minorities.

“According to the political policy of the new minister, embassies in their countries of residence will not make statements about minorities’ parades in the name of the Estonian republic,” Liisa Toots, the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said yesterday.

Holy Synod of Romanian Patriarchate meets in Bucharest

The Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church met on Wednesday at the Synodal Hall of the Patriarchal Residence under the chairmanship of Patriarch Daniel to discuss current topics on the agenda.

The works were opened with a Doxology service officiated by Atanasie of Bogdania, assistant bishop to the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Italy, at the Chapel of Saint George the Trophy-bearer.

On Whit Monday, when is also the Patron Saint-Day of the Russian Holy Trinity church, the Representation of the Moscow Patriarchate in Belgrade, on 17 June 2019 at 9 am the bells of the Russian church of Holy Trinity marked the beginning of the solemn Liturgy.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch officiated the Holy Liturgy with the concelebration of the host archpriest Vitaly Tarasyev, the dean of the church of Holy Trinity; and clergy of the Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac: protopresbyter-staurophor Trajan Kojic, head of the church of Holy Apostle and Evangelist Mark; and NIkola Trajkovic, the dean of the Saint Petka church on Cukarica; archpriest Nebojsa Topolic, the dean of the church of the Mother of God in Zemun; military chaplain Sasa Sovilj, the dean of the side-chapel of Saint Luke of Simpheropolis at the Military Medical Academy; as well as presbyter Ivan Delic from the DIocese of Banat.
