Statement of condolences

With profound sorrow, I sincerely sympathize with the suffering of the miners in Sokobanja. Knowing that our First Sufferer is the Lord Jesus Christ, Who descended into Hades and saved all the captives from darkness, I offer prayers to Him and His Saints, together with the entire Church of God, to save the trapped, comfort the bereaved and receive the deceased in His bosom, for He is the Resurrection and Life, Christ our God, the sense of our lives’ adversities and joys, we live in Him and by Him we are resurrected for the eternal life.

Patriarch Porfirije: Our suffering must be manifested in a life in every good and in a life in Christ-like virtue (Englsih, Greek, Russian)

On 24 March 2022, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch kyr Porfirije served at the Square of Serbian Warriors in Kraljevo the memorial service to the victims of the NATO aggression. Below is the sermon of His Holiness the Patriarch:

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Today as always, we begin our address, dear brothers and sisters, with the Name of God: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. When we say these words, when we say the Name of God, we mean first of all love, absolute love, inexpressible and indescribable to people, and then we think of everything that comes from such love: the creation of everything, the entire cosmos, the universe; creation of everything that we can feel with our senses, but also of everything else that we do not see and do not encompass with our senses. Everything was created from that love and through that love, through the harmony of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and the pinnacle of creation, the pinnacle of God's love is man, human being.
