His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch last Friday held a welcome speech during the lecture Enlightenment and growing up at the Kolarac Foundation in Belgrade. About this theme a few words also were spoken by: academician Vladeta Jerotic, Dr. Scient. med. Katarina Sedlecki - children gynecologist, professor Dr. Scient. med. Cane Tulic - urologist, professor Dr. Scient. med. Dragan Delic - infectologist, as well as protopresbyter-staurophor professor Dr Milos Vesin.

The Committee of the Holy Assembly of Bishops for the preparation of marking the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan as a co-organizer along with the Association of the non-government organizations of the South-East Europe - CIVIS, the Austrian  Foundation PRO ORIENTE and the Swiss Peace and Crisis Foundation organized a book presentation - collection of works of the participants of the conference - Eternal value and perpetual actuality Edict of Milan - towards the great jubilee 2013, which was held in Nis, in the St. Sava's house of the Diocese of Nis, from February 24-26 of this year.

In a full hall of the Ilija Milisavljevic Kolarac last night the publications of the Diocese of Canada and the Serbian Literary Cooperative were presented. With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Georgije of Canada, Mr. Matija Beckovic, Mr. Rajko Petrovic Nogo, Mr. Dragan Lakicevic, Mr. Davor Milicevic and Mrs. Mirjana Bulatovic spoke about these books. Passages from the books were read by actors Srba Milin and Mrs. Vjera Mujovic.

Serbian FM: So-called state of Kosovo cannot own SPC monuments

Monasteries and churches of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) cannot belong to the so-called Republic of Kosovo, Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic stated at the UNESCO General Conference in Paris on Monday.

“In this Organisation, we are supposed to protect and nurture cultural identities, not be complicit in politicized attempts to carve up new ones,” Jeremic underscored.

On Friday, October 28, at the Book Fair there was a presentation of the first edition of the Holy Bible Old and New Testament with translated  deuterocanonical books of the Old Testament, which were translated into the modern Serbian language by His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and retired Bishop Atanasije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina. In the presence of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch and Their Graces Bishops Hrizostom of Zica and George of Canada, about this edition of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church it was spoken by the member of the Synod Bishop Irinej of Backa and the vicar of Serbian Patriarch Irinej Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno.

On October 17, 2011 His Grace Bishop David of Krusevac served the acatist to Most Holy Three-handed Theotokos in the Cathedral church of St. George in Krusevac.

After the acathist Bishop David met with religious teachers of the Krusevac vicarage and held a sermon regardin the significance and responsibility of this service that religious teachers have.
