New ambassador of Greece met Patriarch of Bulgaria

The new Ambassador of Greece to Bulgaria, Dimitrios Chronopoulos, met Patriarch Neofit of Bulgaria this morning.

They discussed issues related to the diplomatic, political and ecclesiastical relations between Bulgaria and Greece, and confirmed the mutual desire to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in a spirit of goodwill.

On the feast of St. Catherine of Alexandria and his 65th birthday, Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa ordained the Abbot of the monastery, Father Germanos, Bishop of Tamiathus, at the Patriarchal Holy Monastery of Saint Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria.

The ordination was attended by many Hierarchs from the Patriarchate of Alexandria and the Church of Greece.

Orthodox burial given to 193 Greek soldiers in Albania who died during war in 1940

A Greek Orthodox burial was finally given to the remains of 193 Greek soldiers who died in Albania during the Greek-Italian war in 1940-41.

After 79 years, the bones of the soldiers who lost their lives while fighting for their country were covered with the Greek flag and placed in their own ossuary.

Over 1,400 New Testaments to be sent to Romanian soldiers abroad by Christmas

The Romanian Patriarchate will give away 1,410 copies of the New Testament with Psalms to the Romanian soldiers abroad.

The New Testaments will be distributed in the near future through the Religious Assistance Section of the Ministry of National Defence, Fr. Ciprian Ioniţă from the Social-Philanthropic Department of the Patriarchal Administration told the Basilica News Agency.

New Skete of St. Anna opens in Kenya

New convent has opened in the Diocese of Nyeri and Mt. Kenya in the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
