St. Sava's Day Academy in Podgorica

The central St. Sava's Day Academy in the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral  was held last night in the crypt of the Cathedral church of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica. At the beginning there was a welcoming speech of His Eminence Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfilohije, and the gathered were also greeted by advisors to the President of Montenegro and Serbia, Sonja Tomovic Sundić and Mladjen Djordjevic.

His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia addresses the public

His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia held today a press conference at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade. A media interest for the speech of His Holiness was great, what one can see in the fact that forty-one media organization from our country and abroad asked for the press accreditation in the Information Service of the SOC. Addressing the media followed the talk of His Holiness with the media representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The press conference was attended by Bishop Irinej of Bachka, the member of the the Holy Synod of Bishops in charge of the information service of the SOC, and vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno.

Feast of St. Sava celebrated in Belgrade

The feast of St. Sava was formally celebrated with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the church of St. Sava on Vracar in Belgrade. The Holy Liturgy was served by His Grace Bishop Petar of Cleveland with the concelebration of Bishop Mitrofan of Eastern America and Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno, priests and deacons.

Vandalism in Tuzla

On January 26 at 20 hours and 15 minutes three unknown persons jumped the fence of the courtyard of the Cathedral church of the Holy Dormition of the Mother of God in Tuzla, after which they wrote on the south side of the church a graffiti of the insulting content: "Let's kill Serbs".

The Tuzla Canton police conducted an investigation and is working on finding the perpetrator of one of the more numerous vandalisms of Orthodox churches in the Canton of Tuzla.

Communique of the Ohrid Archbishopric on return of Archbishop Jovan to Republic of Macedonia

His Beatitude Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje kyr kyr Jovan, since the measure of his detention was abolished, after almost two years of absence, on January 25, in the late evening hours he returned to his homeland. Archbishop Jovan requested the abolition of detention during the judicial process against him, but since it was not allowed, His Beatitude has been forced for almost two years to live outside R. Macedonia.

Celebration of St. Sava's Day in Belgrade

His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia will celebrate a feast of St. Sava, the first Serbian Archbishop, at the Diocese of Nis.
