Archbishop Jovan is awarded an honorary doctorate by the National and Kapodistrian University in Athens

October 2016 - 11:47His Beatitude Archbishop Jovan of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the National and Kapodistrian University in Athens, upon a suggestion by the Theological Faculty of Athens, for his rich academic work, as well as for his sacrifice for the unity of the Church.
On the General Assembly of the Theological Faculty, a report on the work of Archbishop Jovan was submitted by the professor Mr. E. Karageorgoudi and the president of the department, Mr. Sotirios Despotis.

Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem payed a visit to Belgrade
26. September 2016 - 13:50His Beatitude Patriarch Teophilos III of Jerusalem and All Palestine visited the Serbian capital on the Sunday of the 25th of September 2016, following the consecration of the church of Saint John Vladimir in Bar, Montenegro.
His Beatitude Patriarch Teophilos III was welcomed at the Saint Sava Cathedral by the clergy of this Cathedral headed by Dean protopresbyter-staurophor Dr. Vladimir Vukasinovic and in the presence of a multitude of believers. After the solemn doxology, His Beatitude was greeted on behalf of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej by the principal of the church, His Grace Bishop Arsenije of Toplica.

26. September 2016 - 13:41Patriarch Teophilos of Jerusalem consecrated the Cathedral church of Saint John Vladimir in Bar, Montenegro, and celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy. - A huge number of faithful were present on this historical day, the 25th of September, 2016.
His Beatitude Patriarch Teophilos III of Jerusalem and All Palestine consecrated the Cathedral church of Saint John Vladimir in Bar, Montenegro, with the concelebration of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, His Beatitude Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana and All Albania, His Beatitude Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje Jovan and representatives of all Local Orthodox Churches. At the plateau in front of the church there were more than thousand Orthodox believers who were prayerfully present at the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy.
Solemn academy in front of the Cathedral church of St. Jovan Vladimir in Bar, Montenegro

September 2016 - 13:38In presence of Patriarch of Jerusalem and All Palestine Teophilos III, Serbian Patriarch Irinej, Archbishop Anastasios of Albania, representatives of all Local Orthodox Churches, other Christian confessions, Islamic Community, representatives of the diplomatic corps, political and cultural life and many thousands of Orthodox believers, a solemn academy was held at the plateau of the Cathedral church of Saint John Vladimir in Bar, on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of the repose of the saint, in the evening on 24 September 2016.
The solemn lecture was held by the Vicar Bishop of Metropolitan of Montenegro, His Grace Kirill of Dioclea.
On the eve of the great feast-day and historical event in Bar, Montenegro

September 2016 - 13:36His Beatitude Patriarch Teophilos of Jerusalem and All Palestine Teophilos III, accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Aristarch of Constantina, arrived on 24 September at 5 pm in Bar, Montenegro, on the occasion of the consecration of the Cathedral church of Saint John Vladimir. At the same time His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, also arrived, accompanied by Bishops Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic and Dositej of Britain-Scandinavia.
As an emissary of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Metropolitan Emanuel of France, arrived to the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral on the occasion of this magnificent event. Bishop Jovan of Banat, who also came to Bar, conveyed a blessing from His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel of Romania. The Primate of the Albanian Orthodox Church Archbishop Anastasios arrived the same day at the border crossing Sukobin, where he was welcomed by Bishop Kirilo od Dioclea with the clergy of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral and professor of the Seminary of Cetinje Apolon Miscenko.
